Welcome to The FoodFit Life! As a fitness fanatic and die-hard foodie, I’ve been dreaming of a place to house all of my healthy lifestyle finds that I could easily access and share with my friends and family. As life tends to be, things have been crazy these last few years with two small children and general life chaos and now that my oldest is finally in school ALL DAY (?!) 5-days a week, I am finding I have more time to put into the hobbies that I’ve been passionate about.
Welcome to my world. Here you will find my affection for creating a clean-eating lifestyle for myself and my family. I do my best to eliminate processed sugar, preservatives and ingredients you simply can’t pronounce from my family’s diet. My feeling is that if I can control what they eat at home then what they all eat outside the house is ok. 80/20 is my motto! So yes, I DO let my kids have cake at birthday parties and desserts are a nightly occurrence but I just try to make sure they are balanced with “foods that make us grow”, as my daughter says. I am also a fitness fiend. In my lifetime I’ve been professionally certified as a ski instructor, have completed my 200-hour yoga teacher certification, am a certified group fitness instructor, have taught stroller fitness classes and am an avid runner with numerous half-marathons and one marathon under my belt (whether I am going to add to that remains to be seen). Being active everyday is a must for me. Whether it’s a walk outside with a friend or jumping around like a crazy person at a bootcamp class, I am a better wife, mother and friend when I take that time for myself everyday. Each month I lead online health and fitness groups that teach you the basics of clean eating, how to meal plan for yourself and your family, recipes galore and how to find time to incorporate fitness into your daily routine.
